Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today laid the foundation for the long-awaited Additional Secretariat Complex at Dakopgre, Tura — marking a major step towards strengthening administrative infrastructure and governance in the Garo Hills region.
The upcoming Additional Secretariat Complex is expected to decentralize governance, bringing administrative services closer to the people of Garo Hills and ensuring more efficient public service delivery across the region.
The event, which included a prayer and concrete pouring ceremony for the first pillar, symbolized the formal beginning of construction for the state’s ambitious project aimed at bringing the Secretariat closer to the western part of Meghalaya.
