After suffering a concussion in the second quarter of an 18-15 loss to the Denver Broncos, Stroud has been officially ruled out for their upcoming matchup, signaling a significant blow to Houston’s playoff hopes.

What happened to CJ Stroud?

In the NFL Week 9 game against Denver, Stroud attempted to slide after a six-yard scramble when Kris Abrams‑Draine delivered a hit to his midsection. While sliding, the back of Stroud’s helmet snapped into the turf, forcing medical evaluation and immediate exit from the contest.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed Stroud entered the NFL’s concussion protocol and declared him out for Week 10.
