The winter session of Parliament will begin on December 1, 2025, and will continue until December 19, 2025. There will be 15 sittings during the entire session, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on Saturday on the social media platform X.
Rijiju said, "President Droupadi Murmu has approved the government's proposal to hold the winter session from December 1. We look forward to a fruitful session that strengthens our democracy and fulfils the aspirations of the people."
It should be noted that the entire monsoon session was previously marred by opposition uproar over the SIR in Bihar. The session, which ran from July 21st to August 21st, consisted of 21 sittings. The Lok Sabha had a scheduled discussion time of 120 hours, but only 37 hours were spent.
