Matthew Small’s 42-yard touchdown pass to Carlin Gochnour in the third quarter lifted Bothell to a 20-17 win over Battle Ground in a 4A Week 10 state preliminary playoff game Friday in Bothell.
Battle Ground had taken a 17-13 lead into halftime.
The Tigers had a fourth-down pass from midfield fall incomplete in the closing seconds as Bothell held on to win.
LIBERTY 49, EVERGREEN 28 — Liberty of Renton scored 35 straight points to pull away from the Plainsmen after they had some early success in a 3A playoff in Renton.
Malukai Turner-Hodges had a 75-yard touchdown run as Evergreen took a 14-7 lead in the first quarter.
But Liberty answered with three touchdowns to take a 28-14 lead into halftime. The Patriots would stretch that lead to 42-14 after three quarters.
