AUBURN HILLS – On a grand night of upsets in the state of Michigan, Romeo made sure it did its part.

The unranked Bulldogs took down seventh-ranked Utica Eisenhower 3-2 in a Division 1 district finals showdown at Auburn Hills Avondale. Romeo did so in a dramatic, come-from-behind fashion after being down 2-0 after the first two sets.

“We’ve been so looking forward to another shot at them in a tournament setting with a trophy on the line,” noted veteran Romeo coach Stacy Williams. “Last year we took them to five sets in the regional finals and Eisenhower beat us twice in the regular season this year. So we wanted to see them again.”

With the stakes high, Romeo rallied to a 19-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-9 upset win over a veteran team that spent the entire season ranked in the Division 1
