Police say they were in the 'right place at the right time' after a driver who had "enjoyed a little more than just a soft drink" crashed into a street sign right in front of their eyes. Officers on patrol were strolling near Nuneaton town centre when a car smashed a sign near the library.
The individual was arrested and taken into custody. It is understood no injuries were sustained during the incident.
A spokesman for Nuneaton and Bedworth Police said in a statement online: "Right place, right time! Op Resolve Officers were on foot patrols this evening when they found themselves in exactly the right place at the right time just as a vehicle collided with a street sign right in front of them at the Nuneaton Library roundabout.
