Police in Cheltenham have arrested a teenager suspected of dealing drugs and riding an illegal electric bike. Plain clothed cops acted after seeing a male speeding around on a Surron e-bike in the King George playing field area.

When the bike was tested it was found to reach speeds of 48mph. The legal top speed for an e-bike in the UK is 15.5mph.

Neighbourhood police have posted details about the incident on Facebook. Members of the public have left comments congratulating police and calling for actions to crackdown on nuisance electric bikes.
