The calendar has hit November and the government shutdown has become the longest ever, affecting millions of Americans including those who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to feed themselves and their families.
As SNAP benefits ceased Nov. 1 and Summit County officials pledged to help those who depend on this food assistance, some Akron-area restaurants are lending a hand to those families affected by the shutdown.
