Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has said that if veteran pacer Scott Boland gets to play all five Tests of the Ashes, he would surely finish as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Boland is expected to play the first Test, with skipper Pat Cummins set to miss the first Test due to a back injury.

Already ruled out of the Perth opener beginning November 21, Cummins is now targeting a potential return for the day-night Test at the Gabba.

In case Australia go in with the three-pacer combination, Boland might not find a place when Cummins is back in.

“ If Scott Boland plays all 5 Test Matches in The Ashes, he WILL be the highest wicket taker," Pietersen tweeted on Saturday afternoon.
