HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A special day has arrived on the annual calendar for Marshall football.

It’s time for the 75 Memorial Game and the opponent couldn’t be a tougher challenge from within the Sun Belt Conference.

Marshall takes on James Madison at noon Saturday from Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The game is being shown nationally on ESPN2.

The game will be the annual salute to 75 Marshall football players, coaches, administrators and fans that passed away on November 14, 1970 as a result of the plane crash near Tri-State Airport. The team was returning to Huntington from a game at East Carolina.

Both teams haven’t played in more than a week. Marshall (4-4, 2-2) lost at Coastal Carolina 44-27 on October 30, while the Dukes (7-1, 5-0) were last in action two days prior to
