Kate Forbes has announced a multi-million pound fund to support building hundreds of new homes in the capital. The Deputy FM confirmed £42m will go towards over 800 net zero homes.
The development is part of a wider £1.3billion project to regenerate Granton Waterfront in Edinburgh , Scotland’s largest brownfield regeneration project.
With almost half of the properties being affordable homes and all of them being net zero homes, Forbes claimed the funding shows the Scottish Government's commitment to tackling the housing and climate emergencies.
The £42 million fund for the low-carbon development will be split between up to £2.1million payments over 20 years. Some £16million has also been committed to the first phase of the project through t
