A teenager is in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in the leg and back. The 19-year-old man was gunned down at around 8.50pm last night (November 7), with locals mistakenly thinking the gunshots were fireworks. ‌

Emergency crews rushed to Manley Road in Huyton, Merseyside, following reports a man had sustained gunshot injuries outside an address on the street. A police cordon was put in place while officers carried house-to-house enquiries and CCTV reviews. ‌

The cordon remained in place today (November 8) and stretches the length of Manley Road, between Elizabeth Road and Tarbock Road. Meanwhile a second, smaller cordon is visible in the middle of Manley Road. ‌
