A devastating fire in a perfume warehouse in Turkey has resulted in the deaths of at least six individuals. The incident occurred in the Kocaeli province, with emergency services responding to reports of multiple explosions and a significant blaze around 9am local time.

Governor İlhami Aktaş confirmed the fatalities and stated that several others are currently receiving medical treatment. He remarked, "The cause of the fire, which claimed the lives of six people, is being investigated, and the injured are receiving treatment."

The fire has since been extinguished, and images from the scene depict firefighters battling the flames. In response to the tragedy, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his condolences to the families affected. He stated on social media, "I extend my condolences to our deceased siblings in the fire that occurred in a warehouse in the Dilovası district of Kocaeli, and I pray for mercy from Allah for them."

Erdoğan also noted that the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, along with other relevant authorities, has commenced investigations into the incident.

Mansur Yavaş, the mayor of Ankara, conveyed his sorrow over the event, saying, "The fire that broke out in a perfume warehouse in Kocaeli has deeply saddened us all. I wish God's mercy upon our fellow citizens who lost their lives, and urgent healing to the injured."

As investigations continue, the community mourns the loss of life and hopes for the swift recovery of those injured in this tragic event.
