HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 5-year-old girl was killed and a woman was injured on Friday evening in a crash caused by an alleged drunk driver in northeast Harris County, according to investigators.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened on East Mount Houston near Sheridan Road around 8 p.m.
Investigators said the child was in a gray Cadillac with a woman believed to be her mother.
Officials said the car was heading west on E. Mount Houston when a driver in a white Nissan SUV, heading east, veered into the oncoming traffic lane and hit the Cadillac head-on.
The fire department responded and provided aid to the crash victims before they were transported.
