President Trump has pardoned former Tennessee House Speaker Glen Casada and his chief of staff, Cade Cothren.
On Thursday, Trump granted both men full and unconditional pardons, just weeks before they were to report to prison.
Casada was facing three years in federal prison, and Cothren was sentenced to 30 months.
Former State Representative Robin Smith, 62, of Hixson was also convicted and sentenced to prison. She has admitted to working with Casada and Cothren in a mail fraud scheme. Smith's attorney Ben Rose is also asking Trump to pardon her, so far with no success.
Smith took a plea deal and testified against Casada and Cothren.
She was sentenced to 8 months for her part in the fraud case, and is supposed to report to prison in January.
