New Dorp head football coach Brian Murphy, left, has been a part of the Central Cougars' football program for 25 years, including the last 10 as the varsity mentor. But before donning green and gold, Murphy played quarterback at Tottenville High School. He'd go on to play at Wagner College for two seasons before former ND head coach Chris App Sr. hired him in the late 1990s. He'd join the varsity staff in 2000 and became the offensive coordinator four years later before taking over when App retired after the 2013 season. (Staten island Advance/Derek Alvez)
