HONOLULU (Island News) -- Today, some high clouds are moving across the Hawaiian Islands, but there aren’t many low clouds or showers.
These high clouds come from winds high up in the atmosphere and should fade later today. The usual trade winds are weak right now because a large low-pressure system to the northeast is blocking them. With lighter winds, sea breezes will form and could bring a few light showers, mostly in the afternoons and near island interiors. Overall, the weather will stay mostly calm and stable until a cold front gets closer.
Weather models now agree on what’s coming this weekend. The cold front will reach the western islands on Saturday and move east across the state by Sunday. Before the front arrives, winds will stay light. Behind it, stronger east to northeast wi
