WADMALAW ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) - Officials expect low temperatures starting Monday. News 2 checked in with local farmers who said they are prepared for possible impacts.

The first cold snap of the season may bring below freezing temperatures to the area, prompting farmers to make plans to protect their crops. Experts said farmers may consider covering some crops and should harvest any fruits left from the previous planting season.

"I'm not trying to worry about it until we get a little closer because it's not something we can't handle in a short period of time, to cover up what we need to," Pete Ambrose, owner of Ambrose Family Farm, said.
