Good morning mid-Missouri, and happy Saturday! A cold front is currently pushing through the area this morning, kickstarting our weekend cooldown. Temperatures are in the low 40s to upper 30s as you start the day, so fuzzy jackets and a hot cup of coffee will be needed.

Despite the cold front, temperatures will be relatively mild this afternoon with highs in the lower 60s. Temperatures will vary from north to south, with areas north of hwy 24 not even making it out of the lower 50s this afternoon. Isolated shower activity and a closer proximity to the low pressure system will keep those places cooler, but the bulk of our arctic air will not arrive until late this evening.
