LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Crews are still combing through the wreckage of UPS Flight 2976, days after the cargo jet crashed just south of Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
Authorities are keeping Grade Lane closed to the public, though some blockades have been moved back slightly. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and local officials continue to investigate what caused the MD-11 jet’s left engine to fall off shortly after takeoff.
Workers and nearby businesses still restricted
For employees in the area, the crash has disrupted daily operations.
But Dakota Howell, a mechanic with Waste Management, said crews have been working around the clock since the crash.
“We haven’t stopped. We’ve been in every day,” Howell said.
