Ephron Mason-Clark scored a stunning hooked volley to secure Coventry City the full three points in a dramatic end to the top-of-the-table clash at Mark Robins’ Stoke.
The winger, who had been a thorn in the Potters’ side, got injured in the process of his 86th minute strike and had to be stretchered off before the game could resume in the third minute of stoppage time.
The Sky Blues had the edge in terms of possession and chances in a feisty first half when they created eight attempts on goal to Stoke’s two, albeit both sides only had one effort on target.
The visitors’ best chance in the opening 45 came from the boot of Victor Torp who forced goalkeeper Viktor Johansson to tip over, while the Sweden stopper got down low to deny Mason-Clark early in the second period.
