The 2026 Grammy nominations have brought a moment of pride for India, with sitar virtuoso Anoushka Shankar earning her 11th nomination. The celebrated musician has been recognised in the Best Global Performance category for Daybreak, a collaboration with her cousin Alam Khan and percussionist Sarathy Korwar. The track, from her album Chapter III: We Return to Light, concludes a trilogy exploring renewal and light, themes central to Shankar’s evolving artistry.
