LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - Kansas officials are attempting to find the suspected driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 20-year-old University of Kansas student.
At 3:35 a.m. Friday, deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were alerted to a body found near the road in the 1700 block of E 1500 Road in north Lawrence.
When deputies with the DCSO arrived at the scene, they determined the victim had died. She was identified only as a 20-year-old resident of Lawrence. Authorities said an investigation determined she was struck around 6 p.m. Thursday, likely while she was out running.
On Saturday, the victim’s family shared more information with the Lawrence Police Department in hopes that the suspect involved would be found.
