KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas University student residing in Lawrence has been identified as the victim in a hit and run pedestrian crash that happened Thursday night.
Elsa McGrain, 20, a pre-med student, was hit by a vehicle while out running around 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening near the Lawrence Regional Airport. McGrain was set to graduate in 2026.
Douglas County deputies and detectives are working to identify the driver involved in the crash and have released a second photo of the vehicle they believe to be involved in the crash. Detectives say the vehicle is a truck that is all white with no side markings.
