A Riverside County baby boy couldn’t wait to make his debut, arriving on the side of a busy highway early Saturday morning with help from his grandmother and aunt.

The grandmother, Susan Sisler, said her daughter, Alyssa, had called her in the middle of the night saying she was having cramps and needed a ride to the hospital. Susan, her husband, and her other daughter, Jessica, drove to the family’s home in Canyon Lake.

When they arrived, the grandfather stayed behind to watch Alyssa’s two older children, while Susan, Jessica and the expectant mother started toward the hospital.

“We were on the 215 when she started screaming, ‘Mom, pull over! His head’s coming out!’” Susan recalled.
