Taylee Chirrick and Brooke Fatupaito each gave Montana State career performances on Friday night as the Bobcats recorded an 86-72 win over Portland in the Chiles Center.
Chirrick, a sophomore from Roberts, led Montana State (2-0) with a career-high 23 points, connecting on 8 of 10 from the field and 7 of 9 from the foul line. In addition, she stuffed the stat sheet with a career-high seven assists, while posting six steals and three rebounds.
“Taylee was absolutely relentless,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “She got into a little bit of foul trouble but did a great job managing herself throughout the game.”
Fatupaito, a junior from Billings, registered a career-best 14 points and nine rebounds.
