The Las Cruces Police Department is investigating a double shooting that took place at Whiskey Dicks in the early morning hours of Nov. 8.

The shooting resulted in the death of one man. Another man was injured and is in custody. Police are working to identify another man who left the scene.

Just before 2 a.m., on Nov. 8, Las Cruces police and fire received reports of shots fired in the parking lot of Whiskey Dicks at 101 E. Union Ave.

Two men were involved in a physical confrontation in the parking lot, according to police. A 37-year-old man armed himself with a firearm and fired at least one round that struck a 28-year-old man. Another man then shot the 37-year-old before leaving the area.
