An early morning fire in Harrisburg injured five people Saturday after an electrical issue started on the second floor, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out on the 2100 block of Green Street just before 4:30 a.m., according to Harrisburg Fire Chief Brian Enterline.

Seven people were displaced. The five injured people were taken to the hospital with what’s believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Enterline said multiple people had to be rescued from the structure’s roof after they tried to extinguish the flames but were forced to retreat.

The flames were contained to the home’s second and third floors, with the first floor primarily damaged by water.

The American Red Cross is assisting those who are displaced as a result of the fire.
