THE BJP made a clean sweep winning 107 of the 122 seats across local bodies in the Union Territories of Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu (DNHDD) and securing all the remaining seats that went to polls after the party had won over 75 per cent of the seats uncontested. The Congress won two seats and the Independents the rest, including a rebel candidate from the saffron party, as the results were declared on Saturday.
The elections to the Municipal Councils, District Panchayat and Gram Panchayat of the Union Territory of DNH and DD were held on November 5.
Of the 16 seats in Daman District Panchayat, BJP had won unopposed on 10 seats, and in the elections held on the remaining six, the BJP won five, the one seat going to Independent candidate Dharmishta Patel who defeated BJP candidate,
