SAN ANTONIO — A 14-year-old boy was taken to the hospital Friday night after he was struck by a vehicle while riding a motorized mini-bike on the city’s west side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Officers were called around 8:44 p.m. to the intersection of Crooked Trail and Lake Vista, where they found the teen injured following a crash involving a white Toyota Scion, SAPD said.

According to police, the 57-year-old driver stopped to check on the boy but then left before officers arrived. While investigators were still at the scene, police said the driver returned. He was detained and cooperated with officers.

The teen was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to SAPD.
