Firefighters rushed to the Trafford Centre as a fire engulfed a car and spread to others in a packed car park

The drama unfolded at around 6.45pm this evening (Saturday, November 8).

A fire broke out which engulfed one car in the car park near John Lewis.

The flames then spread to two neighbouring cars. Fire breaks out on Trafford Centre car park

Pictures from the scene showed bright orange flames lapping up above the vehicles, close to a Christmas tree illumination, as smoke billowed across the car park and stunned shoppers looked on.
