Armed police were called to a block of flats in Gloucester this evening (Saturday, November 8). Pictures from the scene show both armed and unarmed officers outside Stansted House near Westgate Street just before 7pm.
A witness told Gloucestershire Live they saw six armed officers, including one carrying a protective shield. Unarmed officers were also at the scene, but the eyewitness said police left after around 15 minutes.
One resident said: "I was just making a cup of coffee when they started running through the area, shouting 'armed police'."
Speaking to Gloucestershire Live, the resident said: "These two armed police officers asked me if I've seen anything, heard anything. Asked me what was going on, I asked them what was going on."
