EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 1 Michigan State hockey finished off its first conference series with a sweep over No. 3 Penn State after a 5-0 victory on Saturday at Munn.

The Spartans got on the board first at the 2:32 minute mark in the first period when Porter Martone hit Charlie Stramel for his fourth goal of the season to give MSU a 1-0 lead.

Michigan State added to it with less than two minutes left in the first period when it was Stramel finding Martone for his fourth goal of the season to make it 2-0 Michigan State at the first intermission.

MSU continued to grow its lead when it was Stramel adding another point to his total with an assist to Colin Ralph for his first goal as a Spartan, giving Michigan State a 2-0 lead in the second period.
