PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A 79-year-old man was arrested following an altercation at a protest near the Portland ICE facility on Friday night, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Officers monitoring the protest arrested Vernon Ragan (also known as James Stone) following an “altercation,” and seized a pair of brass knuckles from the suspect.

The PPB says Ragan is the 66th arrest made by Portland officers in relation to the nightly protests outside the ICE facility on the South Waterfront.

The protests began in June, in response to increased federal immigration enforcement under the Trump administration.

Ragan, from Portland, faces charges of menacing and unlawful use of a weapon.
