KAILUA, Hawaii (Island News) – A man was arrested after allegedly threatening people with a machete in the Kailua area Saturday morning.

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) reported that at about 11:05 a.m., two joggers were threatened while jogging along N. Kalaheo Ave near Pueohala Place in Kailua.

A man, driving a white pickup truck, allegedly yelled at the two joggers. He then reportedly turned his vehicle around, drove back toward them, and threatened to kill them while waving a machete out the window.

Officers were able to locate the 39-year-old man and arrested him for Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree. No injuries were reported in this incident.
