HONOLULU (Island News) – An investigation is underway after reports of gunshots were heard near the Chinatown Cultural Plaza on Saturday morning.
According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) at approximately 10:15 a.m. officers responded to 100 N. Beretania St. after reports of gunshots and several masked individuals leaving the area on foot.
Officials reported that an argument had escalated and an unknown person discharged a firearm.
HPD has confirmed that there are no reported victims or injuries at this time. No arrests have been made.
Details regarding the individuals involved in the argument and how it escalated have not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing, anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300.
