FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Grammy Awards, music’s biggest night, honor the year’s top artists, songs, and albums. This year’s list of nominees was revealed today, and two local musicians have earned a spot among the industry’s best.

Fort Smith’s John Jeter and Bentonville’s Jesse Welles are both Grammy nominees this year. They say that just being recognized on music’s biggest stage is an honor in itself—win or lose.

Grammy-nominated conductor John Jeter says music has the power to bring people together. He’s up for Best Classical Instrumental Solo—an honor he learned about from his daughter. “My daughter was like, 'Oh, that’s you,'” Jeter said.
