After a hard-fought series against the Columbus Crew, FC Cincinnati is headed to the MLS Cup quarterfinals.
Cincinnati recorded a 2-1 victory over Columbus on Saturday in the best-of-three finale game that saw both teams tied at one win apiece heading into the matchup. Advertisement
After the game's first half ended scoreless at TQL Stadium, Columbus would be the first to draw blood, with Jacen Russel-Rowe breaking the stalemate at the 63-minute mark.
However, Cincinnati almost immediately rallied back, notching two separate late-game goals from new team acquisition Brenner Souza da Silva.
Souza da Silva, known better among fans simply by his first name of "Brenner," previously played for FCC between 2021 and 2023, before going on to sign with Italian Serie A team Udines
