GRAND FORKS, N.D. — North Dakota State senior cornerback Anthony Chideme-Alfaro capped a strong day for the Bison defense, intercepting a pass near the goal line with 11 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

The turnover helped top-ranked NDSU hold off the University of North Dakota for a 15-10 victory Saturday in Missouri Valley Football Conference play before 12,749 fans at the Alerus Center.

The Bison (10-0, 7-0 MVFC) earned their 12th MVFC championship with the victory. They have two games remaining in the regular season.

Bison quarterback Cole Payton scored on an 8-yard touchdown run for a 15-10 lead with 2 minutes, 22 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. That gave NDSU its first lead in the game, which proved to be a defensive slugfest.
