The Bemidji High School girls hockey team’s potent offense got to work in its season-opening win over East Grand Forks.
The Lumberjacks scored four times in the first period en route to an 8-2 win over the Green Wave.
Junior Bailey Rupp recorded her first hat trick this season, and then some. She buried four goals EGF, while junior defender Millie Knott scored three times herself. Mattie George accounted for the other goal.
Ella-Mae Swanberg, Bergen Bakke, Naomi Johnson, Miika Novak, Megan Berg and Kelli Carlson also recorded points in the form of assists.
Goaltender Lily Lauer made 17 saves in her BHS varsity debut.
