MISSOULA, Mont. - The Montana Grizzlies jumped out early and fast, taking a 22-0 lead midway through the second quarter, after touchdowns on their first three possessions.
Eastern Washington answered before the half with two scores, a 10-yard pass to Kevin Allen III and a 10-yard run by Alen later on in the quarter. Grizzlies ed the Eagles 22-14 at halftime.
Montana continued to extend their lead by Eastern Washington kept fighting back, eventually cutting their deficit to 5 points. The eagles got the ball back via an onside kick recovery and reached the Montana 9 with less then 25 seconds left but fumbled when trying to spike the ball and that ended their comeback bid.
Montana remains undefeated after a 29-24 win over the Eagles.
