SOUTH BEND – It has been no Blake Horvath and no problem for a Navy offense that is simply a machine seemingly no matter who is at the controls.
With starting quarterback Horvath out with an injury, the Midshipmen have moved the ball efficiently against the Irish offense behind backup QB Braxton Woodson, who has 20 carries for 108 yards and a touchdown.
The Notre Dame offense has responded with a pair of long touchdown drives of its own behind a masterful CJ Carr, who is 10 of 12 passing for 164 yards. At the break, Navy has succeeded in slowing down the game and limiting offensive opportunities for the Irish and is within relative striking distance, trailing 21-10. It's certainly not the rout the 27 1/2-point spread implied, though Notre Dame clearly has some significant physical advant
