GROSSE POINTE FARMS – John Kline knows what its like to lose in a district championship game.
The fourth-year starter from St. Clair Shores Lakeview made the varsity as a freshman and was part of the Huskies’ 49-7 Division 2 district finals loss to Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse to end the 2022 season.
Fast forward to 2025 and Lakeview is making some history.
As part of a seven-game win streak – one of the longest in school history – the ninth-ranked Huskies finally earned the school’s first district championship Saturday, claiming the elusive crown with a resounding 24-7 victory over sixth-ranked and host Grosse Pointe South in a Division 2 district finals clash.
