BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
Volunteers from the Birmingham chapter of Sleep In Heavenly Peace (SHP), in collaboration with the Junior League of Birmingham, Rotaract, and Rotary Clubs, have constructed 50 twin and bunk beds to provide for children in need, aiming to improve their sleep and overall well-being.
Carolyn Murray, with the Birmingham chapter of SHP, emphasized the importance of sleep for children.
"Adequate sleep impacts their immune system; it affects their growth. It affects their emotional well-being," Murray said.
She further highlighted the impact of sleep on children's education, stating, "Good sleep influences their academics. We want them to be successful in school."
