A 800-year old tower is described as one of Cambridgeshire’s “hidden gems”. This tower is Longthorpe Tower, situated in Thorpe Road, Peterborough .

The Nene Trust, which manages the tower, describes it as one of Peterborough’s “hidden gems”. The stone tower was first built between 1290 and 1300, and it is the only surviving part of the 14th century manor house that is open to the public today.

In 2022, the tower was named as one of the “least visited attractions” in Cambridgeshire . Statistics revealed that in 2019 it had 1,640 visitors, but this dropped down to only 183 people in 2022. To visit Longthorpe Tower, you can only visit on weekends and have to book a guided tour.
