Christopher Newport captures NJAC championship with 45–42 win over Salisbury
Christopher Newport University secured the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) championship Saturday night with a 45–42 victory over Salisbury University at TowneBank Stadium. The Captains improved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play, earning the NJAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Salisbury dropped to 9-1 overall and 5-1 in the league.
Junior quarterback Connor Barry accounted for four touchdowns, throwing for two and rushing for two more.
