People across Kent have paid tribute to those who have fought for their country on Remembrance Sunday.

The county fell silent at 11am today (November 9) to remember those who died in two world wars and other conflicts involving British and Commonwealth forces.

This year’s events come two days before Armistice Day, which marks the moment World War One ended on November 11, 1918.

Church services and parades were held throughout this morning, with wreaths laid at war memorials while thousands paid homage.

In Faversham , people came together to honour all those who have served with a parade and services held at the Memorial Garden in Stone Street and St Mary of Charity Church.
