A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 8:59 a.m. for dense fog until 11 a.m. for Northern Clinton, Northern Centre, Southern Centre and Northern Lycoming as well as Potter, Cameron, Clearfield, Tioga and Sullivan counties.

"Dense fog is starting to lift and the visibilities have been improving. Patches of low visibility may remain through 10 or even 11 a.m. If traveling, be prepared for changes in visibility over a short distance especially on ridgetops or in river and stream valleys," says the weather service.
