A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with what Phoenix police called the “brutal murder” of Paxton Wallace, 31.

The slaying occurred about 3:40 a.m. Nov. 7 in the 2000 block of West Hadley Street.

Details from a 9-1-1 call stated the man calling into police wanted to report he had killed his girlfriend. When officers arrived at the scene, they contacted Jeffrey Rael, 47, and took him into custody without incident, according to a release.
