MESA, Az. ( KPHO /Gray News) – A swarm of bees got loose inside a pickup truck in Mesa, Arizona Saturday morning and caused a fatal crash, authorities said.
According to officials, the truck was moving the bees to another location when they got loose and stung the driver.
The bee stings caused the driver to have a medical emergency and lose control, causing him to hit a traffic pole and a pedestrian.
Both the driver and the pedestrian were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, died from their injuries at the hospital.
The driver is expected to survive.
